Quick study from a photograph

It rained all day today…

I like when it rains because I love the mood it creates.

But it can also make me sentimental. Today was one of those days.

I was digging up my old photos and books and I found this book filled with great black & white photos of people around the world.

I was flipping through the pages and remembered why I purchased this book.

It was because of this boy’s beautiful smile. The picture was taken in 1958 in Rome.

I just fell in love with his smile. I might have not captured what I see from the photo but it made me smile the whole time I was doing this quick study.

All natural skin products!

I want to share some of my favorite Etsy stores that sell handmade soaps, lip balms, and more.

I personally love handmade products. It is easy to find unique designs and ideas from handmade shops.

And if you like products with natural ingredients and less chemicals then you will probably love handmade products.

You’ve got to LOVE this shop for creative ideas!

I really love their “Twenty Dollar Bill Soap!.  It is a super cute gift idea for any occasions.

They also have $5 bill soap. :)  The price for each soap is, of course, their usual soap price + $20.00 (or $5.00).

It’s like a gift card comes in with a soap. What a fun idea!

This store carries other skin products as well but I mostly use them for their fun gift items.

Enjoy~

Christmas Wine Basket Idea

Hello, Wine Lovers!

If you read all my previous posts, you probably have realized how much I love wines. I don’t know much about wines but I love enjoying them.

I think wine is the most safe way to go for holiday gift-giving.

I once got a bottle of wine for my birthday from a  friend. He actually stole one bottle from his parents’ wine collection. And it might have been a really good wine too. I just wasn’t very interested in wines back then. I was 22 at the time and I thought it was kind of a random gift.

I guess it is kind of unorthodox to give wine as a birthday present but now I wouldn’t mind a good bottle of wine for my birthday. I love having few bottles of wine stacked up in my kitchen. I might be getting old but truth.   :0)

Anyway, I made a Christmas Wine Basket for my brother. Because he had to gift it to someone. I had fun making it because I was decorating my mini Christmas tree at the same time.

So enjoy~

I found the top piece from Michaels Craft Store. It was actually for my tree but I had extra so I used it on the basket.

This beautiful glitter top piece has the flower paper wrapped wire at the bottom. So I simply pushed it through after tying up the plastic cover with the ribbons.

It is simple but it gives extra holiday kick to wine basket.

Hope you like it!  :)

Simple Ring Design

Hello, Crafters~

I made some beautiful rings last week and I want to share them with you.

I purchased the rings and findings from Onlyee.etsy.com

There is no specific technique required! Just need hot glue or super glue!  Easy, right?  ;)

It is a quick, easy, inexpensive way to glam your holiday style. Or why not gift them to your friends and family!  :)

MAC Cosmetics

Hello~

I want to share once of my favorite cosmetic lines with you today; Pro Longwear Concealer (NW 20) and Brow Set (Girl Boy) from MAC.

I don’t have the greatest skin in the universe and it is always difficult to find the right products that won’t promote breakouts.

I recently changed  my basic skincare line to Sidmool products (from Korea). I have super sensitive skin and their natural products are working extremely well for me.

For makeups, I use Aveeno’s Tinted Moisturizer as my foundation and mineral powers from Mineral Essence.

They definitely give my skin more glow and make my skin looks very natural.  But obviously, they do not cover much of my imperfections.

So I researched and tried many products over the years. After the endless trying-outs and breakouts, I finally found a pretty good match!

MAC ‘s Pro Longwear Concealer. I only recently  learned about this product from few of Youtube makeup gurus who have similar skin issues.

I meant to use the concealer as my foundation but I ended up using it as just a concealer…..because of its tiny size.

The size is my only problem with this product. But the price ($16 or $18) is ok for me since it does its job really well without breaking out my skin.

Oh! And my new Brow Set from MAC!  I love it so much. I am not good with color makeups so only makeup I do is usually foundation, powder, blush, and mascara. And of course the eye brow. But I need something that is really easy to use. So I love this mascara brush brow set. I just have to brush my brows several time and I’m done!

The color I picked is called “Girl Boy”. It is medium brown with tiny-tiny glitter effect. I used same kind of brow set from other company but I like this one better.  I tried three different colors and they all looked very natural and very smooth.

Let me know your favorite cosmetic lines!  :)

Simple & Lovely Thanksgiving Wine Basket

I rushed myself to make this two gift baskets so I didn’t get to take step by step pictures.

Procrastinating was the issue here!  :P

But I still want to share these beautiful baskets with you.

My favorite part the the basket is the Heart-shaped “Thank you” message stick.

Picture quality is not the best today but they looked wonderful. :)

It didn’t really cost me a lot to make these baskets. I actually used baskets that I already own.

If you like using baskets for gifts (not just wines), try dollar stores. They usually have some baskets available.

I know I do a lot of gift baskets throughout the year so I buy them whenever I see a good deal. I mean a really good deal!  :)

Enjoy your Thanksgiving Day with family and friends.

Happy Thanksgiving~!

Idyllic Wine Store I found…

I usually go to a wine store in Southlake, TX but they recently closed down.

I don’t mind going to local grocery store or liquor store for everyday wines.

But I love going to a wine store once in a while to check out good selection of wines  from all around the world.

So I found this wine store in Plano, TX about 23 mins away from my home.

The store was smaller than the previous store I used to go to.

But I just fell in love with one as soon as I stepped in. The setting was very inviting and relaxing.

Unlike many other big wine stores, I didn’t feel overwhelmed by large selections of wines.

And the lady was super nice and took plenty of time to talk about each wine I was interested in.

I wish I brought my camera with me so I could take some pictures.

They hold wine tasting events as well in a small open area within the store.

The room is just so lovely. This wine shop is now on my list for girls night out with my friends!

Sensitive to Jewels? No Problem!

Hi, I’m Abby.

I got my Jewelry Shield in my mail box today.  I am very excited to use this product.

What it does is basically provide a  protective barrier between your skin and jewels.

Many people have allergic reaction on their skin when they wear jewels.  And many times, it does not really matter what kind of jewels they are wearing.

I have this same problem with my ears. When I wear earrings, my ears get itchy at first and then turn red.

I love making and wearing accessories and jewels but this problem prevented me from wearing cute earrings.

Recently, someone recommended this product called “Jewelry Shield“.

And I applied this product on few of my earrings before I purchased it. And this works for me wonderfully!

You can pretty much use it on every accessories and jewels you wear that comes in contact with your skin.

If you have allergic reaction to jewelry and haven’t tried this product yet, You Must Try It!  :)

Here is a picture of front and back of original packaging with vendor’s information.

I purchased it from eBay for $9.99 (I think)

“Zoo” Theme Cupcake Topper

I was at Walmart with a friend yesterday and found this cute animal foam sticker package.

Well…I’ve seen it everywhere but it never crossed my mind until now that I could use these as cupcake toppers!

This will be a quick and easy sharing!

***I also want to do my first Party Blog Giveaway with this item!

***Please read the instruction and rules at the end of this post to WIN these cuties!

Materials Needed:

  1. “zoo” Foam Stickers
  2. Popsicle Sticks
  3. Maybe a glue

Where did I get my materials from?

  • Both from Walmart

Steps:

1. Back of the foam sticker is the sticky part and it is covered with the paper.

2. You don’t need to peel off the whole paper. Slightly lift off the paper in the area where you want to insert a popsicle stick.

Then attach the stick.

3. Cover the back again with the same paper and press gently.

You might want to add some glue to the back paper. Because of bulky area created with the stick, some part of the paper would not re-attach well.

You can peel off the back paper completely and cover the sticky back part with thin paper or cloth. (this requires more work)

4. This is the final look!  Easy, right?  :)

Oh and as you know already, they have many other kinds of foam stickers.

Try them!  It will be Fun!!  :)

What is in the Giveaway Package?

Total of 24 pieces of Zoo Cupcake Topper.
